Christmas is a time for cosy gatherings with family, gift exchanges and of course, no gathering is completed without… FOOD! In Singapore, we all love good food and of course, preparing for a feast at home can be really tiring. From roasting the turkey to washing up the plates that have been polished clean, it can be really tiring. If you don’t want to spend the morning after your party lamenting about how tired you are, I suggest having your Christmas meal outside at a restaurant.
You get the best of both worlds – your family and friends will definitely enjoy the spread (no worries about making cooking blunders!), and your overworked dishwasher will thank you as well.
Here are some of the 10 best restaurants in Singapore that we’ve picked out specially for you. Perfect for a cosy Christmas gathering, or just a great meal!
1. Salt Grill & Sky Bar Singapore
Get a bird’s eye view of the Singapore skyline at this restaurant which is located on the 55th floor of ION Orchard. The posh setting will definitely make this meal one to remember. Get the ‘Surf & Turf’, which has Rangers Valley pure Black Angus sirloin (300 days grain fed, MBS 3+), tiger prawns, chimichurri and garlic cream.
If you’ll like to celebrate Christmas at Salt Grill & Sky Bar, be sure to make a reservation for the special Christmas menus on 24 and 25 December Lunch Session (S$69/pax, 3 Course Christmas Lunch Set Menu).

5. Nadai Fujisoba Ni-Hachi
Now, Japanese food doesn’t really fit with the Christmas theme, right? But Nadai Fujisoba, which is Japan’s “number one soba restaurant”, has a six-course hotpot meal launched just in time for Christmas. Termed the Mount Fuji Icy Hotspot set, the indulgent meal costs $65++ a person and $49.80++ for the festive price.
According to their Facebook page, fresh seafood is served on top of ice to keep it fresh. They then pour seafood and chicken stock over to cook the items. Along with the generous portion of seafood, soba, mashed buckwheat tempura and grilled dashimaki tamago (Japanese omelette with dashi sauce) is included in the set meal. Don’t miss out on the Yakitori Salt and Teriyaki as well.

7. Osteria Mozza
The truffle fries hype in Singapore seems to have died down recently, but Osteria Mozza’s festive menu promises to bring back the love for truffle. The six-course tasting menu at Osteria Mozza prominently features white truffle, an earthly tasting type of funghi that is slightly garlicky, with a “deep tasting aroma”.
The white truffle used in their dishes is harvested from the Piedmont region in Northern Italy, which borders France and Switzerland. Star dishes on their special menu include tortellini in broth with white truffle, blue crab and mascarpone ravioli with lobster butter and cavatelli with winter squash and sage.
My favourite part of Italian cuisine has to be their desserts. Here, warm apple crisp with cinnamon gelato and creme fraiche is served, amongst other delicious sounding treats. The feast costs $188++ per pax. Note that the same menu must be taken by the entire table!
Address: B1-42-46, Galleria Level, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands (Across from the Theatre)
8. The Black Swan
Something about dining al fresco is appealing, even in Singapore’s humid weather. The Black Swan boasts of a gorgeous alfresco garden patio – perfect for your Christmas gathering! The restaurant was also awarded Tatler’s Best New Restaurant of the year in its first year of opening, so you can be sure that the food quality is not compromised at all.
If you’re stuck at work during the festive season, this is the place to have your business lunch at. Their festive lunch set is only available on weekdays, 11.30am-3pm till 29 December 2017.
Don’t let that turn you away through. Their starters include port wine jelly and toasted brioche, pan-seared George Bank scallops with corn puree and crispy chicken skin, and even foie gras parfait with hazelnut crust. It gets better. Main course options include roasted Iberian pork chop with potatoes au gratin, and the classic steak & frites.
