Cardable

A Note from The Editor

Introduction

The objective of this blog is to educate our readers about Cards – Credit, debit, loyalty, membership cards. I noticed Singaporeans are a competitive lot. Competitive in getting the best deals out there.

With the plethora of card choices out there, what differentiates one from another, and what’s the best for you?

Cards in our lives

When I was a student, I remembered my first debit card which allowed me to make online purchases. Then i had my first credit card in university – a student card which gave some basic but exciting perks.

Before I quit my job to start Cardable, I was a young executive in the finance industry. Like many of you, I went through the excitement of researching, discussing with colleagues, and applying for cards when the first paycheck landed. As I progressed in my career, that turned to other cards that fine-tuned my spending to give better cash rebates, and others that gave fantastic luxury dining promotions.

 Means to an end

I wouldn’t consider myself a card nut. I own 7 credit cards (the average Singaporean owns 6)

I believe cards are more of a means to an end. With Cardable, we don’t hope that you spend more on your cards, just to spend smarter, and leverage on your purchasing power to get the best perks and savings.

With the Cardable blog, let’s explore together.
